Reflection of AED 200

  1. 1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?                                                  My expectation for this course was to learn more about art and getting a understanding of how art is created.
    2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your initial posting?                                                                                                       Art is the self expression of a person and a visual perception of how a person sees the world. Art can  be used to bring a awareness to serious situations.
    3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?
My Favorite artist would have to be Vincent Van Gogh  and i didnt have a favourite artist but going through this art i developed a likeing to the artist van gogh
    4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first posting? How is it the same or different?                     i like taking this online class  but i believe in order to take an online class you need to have a lot of your priorities in check so you dont forget anything and can be on top of everything

The Guernica by Pablo Picasso shows a very monochromatic color of Black and white.

The painting is painted in the color black and white because Pablo Picasso wanted his audience to no be able to see the violence of what was going on.

Reflection Project #4

Creating the exhibit was a challenge  because I didn't really know what my theme was going to be about. The theme came to me coming across the picture scream by Edward Munch which gave ne the idea of solitude. After being able to figure out the title and then was able to come up with the theme. The picture choosing was a little stressful because  I wasn't sure what kind of picture would flow with the theme but after finding the first picture and was able to correlate where my picture for my exhibit was gonna go.

Video Review

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the video The Lowdown on the Lowbrow I was able to understand that the meaning of lowbrow was indicating someone's lack of intelligence which I would have never thought of. Another thing is how a lot of different types of art are all put separate categories but all come together also flow with each other. In the video An acquiring mind: Philippe de Montebello and the Metropolitan
I get to understand what An art curator does and what their roles is within the art museums. another is how knowledgeable they are on a piece of art work.

2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Exhibition project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.
The videos does not relate to my creation because mine was about solitude.

3. What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of the art concepts you practiced while creating your curation project?
the films were very informative. I like the art that was shown also the art curator in action because it gave me an example of how I should present my art. the video went in-depth  on the topics.
